Cards

A deck of cards, that's all you'll need. Bring a deck anywhere. To the beach - they don't get dirty from the sand. On the boat, they will float if you drop them in the ocean or lake. On the camping trip, they're great fun during rainy weather and in the tent. On the road trip, when you're bored from being in the car. Even bring them on the yoga retreat, you can relax during a game of solitaire. A deck of cards, that's all you'll need.

ice cream social
Mood:  happy

Rather than throwing a big backyard party for your friends this summer, try having an ice cream social. It's great for kids, great for adults and great for the local business. Pick a date and time and favorite ice cream shop. Everyone meets up and chats and socializes for about an hour or so. You can foot the bill and it'll still cost you less than the bbq menu. Your friends can come with the family or part of the family if they have babysitting issues and it's a much more enjoyable atmosphere for you. Everyone's time is so demanding over the summer, but this is a great way to fit in a gathering and not break the bank doing it. Something different I think friends will like.

sail
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: boating

We all need to save on gas this summer. Poor souls who have a motor boat on the lake will probably just sit at the docks and float around every other weekend. But for those that sail, you got it made. You can weather the gas prices and keep your costs down by using good ole 'wind'. Yachts may be a different story. But I doubt we'll see a bunch of yachts for sale this summer due to gas prices, because if you have a yacht you probably have some decent change hangin' around too, so not as much of a worry. However, no one likes to get ripped off by the gas companies. My recommendation is 'set sail' or 'stay docked' or 'beach it'.

Namaste
Mood:  happy

Namaste. Famous saying by many, particularly those heading up the yoga classes. I understood the concept of it, but didn't really know the literal meaning behind it. This is an Indian greeting and may be translated literally to be 'I bow to you'. Most people who use this as a casual greeting, not of India descent, wil not bow to you, but mean it more of a salutation of hello and good feelings. It has spiritual meaning, and a general goodness around it.

Namaste

Easy lasagna recipe hint is to use campanelle noodles instead of the long lasagna noodles. For some reason it's just simplier and quicker. Plus, use the parmigiano/romano cheese as extra flavor, it really made the difference. Spice it up for that mexican flair by adding hot sauce.

Happy Cinco de Mayo
Mood:  cool
May 5th is the festive day of Cinco de Mayo. Good reason to kick back, enjoy the sun, and sip a cold margarita while hangin' on the deck. I'll just dream about that mexican vacation.

Vacations
Mood:  chillin'
Usually, I have the desire to go on vacation in Feb or March. But now that it's April, almost May, I could use a relaxing vacation before the start of yardwork kicks in. Something serene and calm, like a spa resort place. Just hang out there for awhile, not worry about where to go, what to do, just enjoy their activites.
